On October 12, 2018, Prof. Wu Jinglong, a tenured professor from the National University of Okayama, was invited to visit the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science. Prof. Li Jinsong, Dean of the CBEIS, Wang Chunbo, the secretary of the Party committee, and Prof. Liu Qingjun, the Deputy Dean of the CBEIS, warmly received. Professor Wu has been engaged in brain science and its applied research since the 1990s. Up to now, he has obtained more than 10 items from the Scientific Instruments of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Key Research and Development Program, with more than 300 papers published. The purpose of this visit is to explore ways and means of deep cooperation between the two sides in the field of brain science. Professor Wu gave a wonderful academic report to the teachers and students of the college on the topic of “Study on Brain Science and Its Applied Technology” during the 70th Youth Academic Salon and Graduate Research Capacity Enhancement Series of CBEIS. The report was hosted by Prof. Li Jinsong,,the Dean of CBEIS. Prof. Xia Ling, the director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Researcher Wu Dan, Researcher Zhang Yi, Researcher Ding Nai, Researcher Sun Yu, Associate Professor He Hongjian and Associate Professor Xu Kedi of Qiushi Academy For Advanced Studies attended the meeting.
Professor Wu’s report presents a series of innovations since he was engaged in brain science research, involving many hotspots in the field. Especially in recent years, Prof. Wu proposed a multi-sensory brain mechanism for early diagnosis of AD, a novel neurofeedback treatment method for early intervention of AD, and a multimodal data analysis model for objective evaluation of AD based on cognitive neuroscience and neuroengineering. Lots of excellent results have been achieved. The report received enthusiastic response .Many teachers and students actively discussed the difficulties and doubts in the relevant research fields with Prof. Wu.
After the report, Prof. Wu was invited to visit the laboratory related to brain science research of CBEIS, and exchanged ideas with our teachers.Many young teachers have presented a number of research platforms and many representative achievements to Prof. Wu in detail, which has aroused the strong interest of him and laid a good foundation for the future cooperation.
