On May 10th, 2019, Prof. James Goh, Dean of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Prof. Jun Li, Associate Dean of the Department of BME, NUS, were invited to visit the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science(CBEIS), ZJU. In the visiting, ZJU-NUS joint training program for graduate students were further discussed and implemented.
In the morning, Cooperative meeting was held. Prof. Zhou Hong and Prof. Liu Qingjun, Associate Dean of CBEIS, Prof. Xu Yingke, Assistant Dean of CBEIS, Prof. Ning Gangming, Associate director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Research Professor Dr. Sun Yu, and Mr. Huang Yuncao, Chief of the Graduation Management attended the meeting.
Cooperation Meeting was held in the morning.
Prof. Zhou Hong first gave a warm welcome to Prof. James Goh and Prof. Jun Li, and briefly introduced CBEIS, including the college’s history, research area, and future development. Prof. Liu Qingjun gave an introduction of PhD student joint training policy of Zhejiang University. Prof. James Goh mainly talked about the research area of the Department of BME, NUS while Prof. Jun Li mainly introduced the PhD joint training program at NUS and the BS-MS ‘3+1+1’ program. Later, ZJU-NUS graduate student joint training program as well as BS-MS ‘3+1+1’ program were further discussed and the intention of joint training programs were signed. The programs were expected to be implemented next year.
In the afternoon, Prof. James Goh and Prof. Jun Li were invited to take part in the CBEIS 85th Youth Academic Salon. Hosted by Prof. Xu Yingke, the lectures given by two professors were incredible, and were highly welcomed by students on the spot.
