In August 2019, 16 students from the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrumental Science, ZJU completed a three-week research training in the University of Western Australia. Students were devided into seven groups, each working on different projects related to a variety of professional fields including signal detection, image processing and visual trackings.
While focusing on their own division of labor, everyone valued the importance of teamwork. Whenever something occurred hindered the experiment, new solutions can always be found through cooperative analysis. After several days, the students and mentors of each group were not only teachers and students, but also partners in research and even became close friends in life.

Every Friday afternoon, the students would summarize a week’s work through a group meeting and produce a weekly report. Teachers and professors would give useful and detailed suggestions. These meetings were great chances for them to practice our expression skills and communicate with each other while following up the project progress.

They also had the opportunity to take part in the Open Day of UWA. While experiencing the professional environment of UWA, they also caught sight of the diverse campus culture of UWA. On weekends, they had time to visit famous sights such as the Yanchep National Park, the Pinnacles and the Rotness Island. The beauty and amenity of the city left a deep impression.
