To promote mutual learning and build on past achievements —— Exchange Activities to Shenzhen

On December 8th, 2019, invited by CBEIS Guangdong Alumni Association, Prof. Zhang Hong, Dean of College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science(CBEIS), Ms. Wang Chunbo, secretary of the party committee of CBEIS, Ms. Yang Yang, deputy secretary of the party committee of CBEIS, and Mr. Tao Chengrong, alumni development liaison, together with over nearly 40 fraternity members, participated in the exchange activity to Shenzhen.

 


The first stop was held in the beautiful Lihu Campus, Shenzhen university. Professors from Shenzhen University (SZU), including the President of CBEIS Guangdong Alumni Association, the first post-doctoral researcher of CBEIS, Vice President of SZU, Prof. Chen Siping, as well as members from the CBEIS Guangdong Alumni Association participated in the activity. The activity was held by Pro. Ni Dong and Mr. Wang Bing.

 

Then, guests visited Research Laboratory and characteristic teaching laboratory at the college of Biomedical Engineering, SZU, and discussed with teachers and students about discipline development, platform construction, talent training, etc.

The second stop was held in Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), with the participation of Prof. Li Guanglin, vice President of the CBEIS Guangdong Alumni, and other professors from SIAT. At first, Prof. Li Guanglin briefly introduced SIAT. Then, guided by professors from SIAT, guests visited MRI laboratory, neural engineering laboratory, ultrasonic laboratory, biomedical optics etc... at SIAT.

The intensive and substantial itinerary in Shenzhen not only strengthened the mutual understanding between the two universities and KAIST, but also promoted the possibility of innovative development cooperation in the future. It is believed that the sparks generated by the exchange will also open up more innovative development ideas for the colleges to further promote the construction of Double First-Class College Plan.
